I scouted out and found a breeding pair of Black-throated Loon during the last couple of weeks. I had my first mornig session with them in the deep forest lake this morning, here is one of the first frames taken at 3.50AM. Hopefully more visits to come, but it is a start!

All comments welcome and best wishes to everyone!

Beautiful shot, I have a slight reservation over the inky blue/black darkest feathers but it looks beautiful.

Quite nice. Like all that green water. Nice pose and head angle of the bird.

What a wonderful find! Beautiful bird, lovely green water, perfect pose. I love it, but could also imagine a pano version with some off the top and bottom, since the reflection is less than perfect. I'd take it either way.

    Ivan:

Very nice and a species we rarely see images of .

I am partial to pano crops for loons so agree with that comment.

Look forward to more. Have they laid eggs yet?
