I was fortunate to spend the past week in the Pafuri region of the northern Kruger National Park. I encountered this female leopard just before the sun dipped below the horison. She gave me a a long hard stare before she disappeared in the tall grass, giving me just enough time to capture a few images. The light was magic, and so was the moment:)

One of the best shots of this animal I have seen on this forum! Love the stare, BG, sharpness and environment, but what really really tops this off is the light, giving the animal soo much pop! Just amazing, congrats!
You did exceptionally well here Chris! The subject stands out very well against the background and the quality of light shown here makes this just so impressive!!!
Hi Chris
Absolutely beautiful image. I was fortunate to have lived in Pafuri for 13 years. Was the manager at TEBA for 3 years. Sadly it was in the days before 'digital'. Would give anything to have had digital equipment back then.
