They are tiny and extremely fast.
Getting one in a frame even when you pre-focus took me about 5 tries.

Very hard to get... Well worth the effort.. Love the perch, pose and BG. TFS
This is a really hard shot to get. I would be super happy to get this!
Great BG and I like the stump.
The critical focus point looks like it was on the wing although the head is sharp enough. Head just doesn't look as good as the wing.
I would boost saturation globally on this image by 2 or 3 points.

Hi Dan, quite a feat when you are shooting at a effective focal range of 1050mm, bird small, field of view narrow. Nice had turn and wing position, complimentary colors in the background. Thank you for sharing.

Looks like the bird is falling off the perch. More room at the top would be nice.
Looks like tough conditions Dan, with harsh light, sadly the sharpness looks more towards the middle to wing rather than the head. Whites on the belly appear just on the cusp!
Needs a bit more mid tone and 3/4 tone to boost the overall tonal range, all a bit bright.

Post Production: It’s ALL about what you do with the tools and not, which brand of tool you use.
Thanks Steve, you are right I think on the focus but shutter speed at 1/6400 is barely enough
to freeze them so that is one of the issues.
I could lower the exposure but this is not harsh light....
It was taken at 6;58 am. You have to have enough light to shoot at mega speed.
You are not going to shoot them at dawn or dusk.
I can freeze hummingbirds at lower shutter speeds.
