I just managed to capture the tern I posted the other day, flying from another perch. Image created at Shedian Marine Common Tern colony, New Brunswick. I wasn't happy with the comp so added some canvas to the right. I don't like the OOF pylon to the left but felt that it was too big an object to remove so I worked around it.

I like the takeoff position and that he's just left the post. On one hand the BG adds some depth but I'm with you on the OOF pylon. Have you tried to just blur the entire BG? Perhaps that would lessen the overall effect of the pylon.

The bird itself looks good, John, but I feel there's too much competition from other light/white areas in the image. My eyes kinda want to jump from one white area to the next.

    Hi John,

I like the colors and feeling on this one. The white line in front of the bird is a distraction to a already busy BG, perhaps by moving few steps to the left would of helped that but I know sometimes we don't have few steps!! ;)

Thanks all. I'll attempt a (difficult) Ps edit of the image. As always, much appreciate comments.
