These guys are just out of range up here so I had to drive a bit outside of town to see or photograph this species. Sure glad I did, as it such a beautiful species. I had a nice fresh setup for it and used some audio to get it on, but it refused (but came real close)...and chose this dry branch close-by instead. I'll take it anyhow!

Canon 7DII + 500mm f/4 II + 1.4TC III, manual exposure, evaluative metering, 1/2000s., f/5.6, ISO 800, natural light, small crop for comp (about 85% FF), eye work, a thin black branch removed at far left, tweaked the yellows on the head as the details there were washed out.

What a beauty of a warbler. They are a rarity here and I've only gotten a few glimpses; the only one I got a decent look at, but no photo, was in Panama some years ago. This has a perfect pose and exposure and background. I'd be happy with the slightly less than perfect perch.

A great view of this warbler. Really digging that yellow. Background and perch and pose all dead on.

My favorite warbler! Super! We don't have them in CA, so this helps recall my time on the East Coast. Really pretty view with perfect exposure, details, and eye contact. Perch isn't perfect, but this is a true in-field result, not some
idiot-proof banana set-up in Costa Rica. I 'd be thrilled with this in my collection. Light is so nice. 85% FF - right on top of him!

***-kicking bird. Super sharp with perfect head angle and EXPO. As expected.

    This is great Daniel.
Beautiful bird. A prettier perch would have been wonderful but I would take this in a heartbeat!
