Crawled about another meter closer from last post. The full approach from standing took 20 minutes. Then I realized this venue (RC airfield) was now open as a big RC jet took off. Now glad to be low for two reasons. Still a large crop. As I was waiting for this diligent sentinel to do something interesting, out popped a head (the mate) still standing well down in the entrance tunnel.

Just lovin these images, if possible I would be tempted to place him less central.

I did not see the other owl until I read you caption. A nice surprise! Maybe pointing your lens an inch to the left would have helped with the comp, but otherwise this is a fun image with beautiful grassy habitat.

Hi David, good image. I like the habitat. My first impression, like Jonathan, was that the owl was to centered but then seeing the other owl not much you could do. Thank you for sharing.

I really like this. It's a perfect depiction of this bird. The low angle is really what does it, and I think the second bird is a really cool touch as well. The taller stalks add some nice context/texture as well. Love the color saturation too. Wider crop wise.

This is nice, I think you could ease up a bit on the saturation.

Boy that owl does not look happy. Hopefully it's not you. The low angle is nice. Really like all that green.
