This was growing in my mini meadow, it has taken us several years for the seeds to germinate and at last we have the flowers. They are parasitic and parasitise the grasses, this of course weakens the grass and permits the influx of further and differing wildflower species. The name comes from thenoise they make inthe summer breeze, the seeds when formed rattle in the once flower head.
