A fun time of year when the Wood Ducks come back in full breeding plumage. Here is one showing off all of its' beautiful colours and patterns.

Canon 7DII + 500mm f/4 II + 1.4TC III, manual exposure, evaluative metering, 1/500s., f/9, ISO 800, natural light, handheld, CW rotation and then filled the small corners - otherwise FF, some white flecks (non-water drops) removed form the plumage. Attracted closer with seeds.

Nice view of this drake. The low angle and framing are right on. Really digging those colors.

    The exposure is perfect.
    Love the low angle.
The whites on the shoulder look a bit greyed out. Did you have to recover by burning? If yes, then I would back off a bit.
Looks like you and Randy are competing for the "woodie" prize!

This one is absolutely glowing. No nits from me. I see Gail's point but probably wouldn't have noticed.

    Daniel:

A beauty. Sharp well exposed, great shooting angle, love the purple cheek patch showing so well

I do see the "grey" effect on the whites that Gail mentioned, but measures 235 range, so pretty close.

You just have to love this species.

    Cheers
