Default Diligent parental gaze... The story continues...

Was sitting reading the news at my workstation very early this morning when I heard the Jays making a racket with loud cawing. Turned left to see our kitty being dive bombed harshly as she sought cover under a straight back chair on the back stoop. Also heard but did not spot the little one calling for parents. Both parents diligently flew in to a sea grape perch just above the chair. I believe this is Mom eyeing our cowering kitty. Only know by comparing size as they worked together and are otherwise identical. So, it seems our healthy looking chick has made it through the night and is being closely cared for by both parents.

Image created through tinted sliding glass frame and was under exposed out of the camera. About a meter away and wide open aimed right at the eye/cheek. I liked the intent cocked stare at the unwanted threat below. They would constantly fly off and back to the close perch. Our kitty was going nowhere. As they flew off this perch, opened the door and kitty ran inside. Decided to keep her in all day.

You do a lot of nice environment shots, but this is just not in focus and is noisy.

I like the curious pose but this doesn't work for me either very noisy and soft. the filtered light and the "electric" green in the lower part of the frame draws my eyes too

Agree about the noise- I can actually see purple/pink pixels in the breast area.
This one is not working for me-sorry.

The eye-skin looks fairly sharp but nothing else. The perch is horrific at best ...
