    Tried to stop down just enough to get petal texture the whole way.

    Beautiful, composition and background spot on. I feel you could perhaps lift the image slightly using curves or the gamma slider in levels, being careful to protect the highlights.
    Strange isn't it I just commented a minute ago on John's image and referred to a lilly and here we have a lilly!!

    Clean and simple. The framing and the backlighting through the petal are right on.
