Another from a recent trip to Brigantine. I've tried many times to catch the exact moment that the tern emerges from the water with a catch. It's virtually impossible for me to track and hold focus on the bird from his hover, through his dive sequence, to the point where he emerges. It's almost easier, although it takes some practice and a lot of luck, just to predict where he will emerge and try to pre-focus at that spot. This isn't quite the image I had been imagining - the catch is almost invisible, the prior frame had a better HA and bigger splash but lousy wing position - but it's probably the best I've gotten so far. I'll keep trying. I broke the usual rules of composition so that I could show where the bird had come from.
Cool that you got past the exit with full crater and droplets. Yes, the prey is small but you can see something was had. EXP looks god with view of that eye. I'd try and raise the shadows and thus a little more detail in the cap. This beauty pops against that brooding dark water. TFS
