I ran to the shaded area, got down to my belly, looked up and this colt almost stepped on my lens. Popped up( for a large 64 yr old man, more of a slow upheaval) and started backing away , as the colt continued, leaned over with eye in EVF and aimed at the cheek region. All I could muster.

Back story image as my wife had cell phone and was laughing the whole way. On the right, would be me and the family marching west. On the left. The people following and trying to stay out of the picture. The late sun was coming from the right making it difficult to get on sun angle without going down berm (not allowed).

There is a strong purple cast to the image.
I am trying to figure out why you ran to a shaded area. Was the sun really high in the sky?
The comp is good for this pose.
    IQ just seems off,

I like the framing and the slightly raised foot. There does seem to be a color cast here.
