I always love an image from the white phase Reddish Egret! Nice pastel colours. I like the water action and drops - it shows that this individual has been busy, I do wish its' body had been swung over more parallel to the sensor, this would have lit it better and avoided the shadows on it. You're making me wish I was there (Florida), especially that I was suppose to be there right now! Thank you covid....

Head angle is nice, I think you cold lower exposure a tad.

I like the composition and pose and the splashes too.

So can I ask is this a Reddish egret who is temporarily white or is it permanently white?

    This guy is permanently white.
Agree with Daniel's comment re" body position.

I like the action, composition and the water drops across the whole frame makes the image for me. Very well done David!

Yes, permanently white as morph (in biology terms) means any structural/color difference within a species. That is, reddish egret in every way but the white variation (my absolute favorite wader in north america). Thanks to all for comments and suggestions. At frame rate of 5ps the next frame had the light perfect but none of the water drama that shows how frenetic these beauties are when hunting.
The proper term is Reddish Egret white morph. And yes Daniel, even us Floridians can't use most beaches yet. Fort De Soto is just open with the usual social distancing restrictions. But if cases of covid begin to increase, it will be closed again in a heart beat.

Fits the theme well. The light was sure nice. Like the splashing water. Detail on the bird looks right on.
