This young cub stayed with us for almost an hour. Mum had wandered off, but was still close by, he was just too interested with the noises, smells and these funny object running about.

Hy Steve, very nicely composed image, I like the way the bear walks in the frame and the lifted front paw which suggests movement. He seems to be smiling, maybe he was dreaming about dinner or lunch? The foreground and the background gives a sense of its enviroment. Did you use exposure compensation, since you were shooting on snow?

Hi Dan, yes I did, EV was +1.33 as I shoot ETTR (Expose to the Right) in manual mode, as I want to get the exposure on the histogram as far to the light without clipping, so have the Highlights enabled in camera to show any clipping.

Hi Steve .... another very fine PB image .
As we all might like the same thing .... those massive paws nicely shown . And that checking view of the bear .
Very well balanced tones and colors .... always love those icy blues .

Nice POV from the height of the boat .... glad he was a bit away .

Love the environment included with this one. Nice to see all that ice and snow. The raised foot is nice as well. Detail on the bear looks great.
