Bird is nice and sharp, great pose and nice separation from the BG.

I would've thought it was shot with a prime Bill. Sometimes it's hard to know how much margin is adequate for direction but I love how you left a bit after the middle lily pad. Nicely done

PS - That foot looks more like something out of a Tim Burton Halloween film. Super cool.

nice pose with the raised foot, the plumage has lost a bit of detail and some grain is creeping in. I might crop him tighter too

Very nice over all. Like that huge raised foot. The lily pads are another nice touch. I like the crop as is.

This is excellent Bill. I know that it is next to impossible to get these guys in an area that is clear of stems/flowers/debris.
I like your crop and the raised foot very much.If you have not raised the exposure already, I would brighten the bird or lift the shadows.
    Good frame,

Good one, Bill. Nice raised foot with drops of water from the toes. I would raise the shadow areas a bit.

Thank you all. This was a considerable crop, so it's no surprise that it's lacking in some fine detail. I agree I should have raised the shadows a bit. Here's a RP with just a modest lifting of the shadow. Any more and it seems to lose some of the rich color. I appreciate the comments and suggestions.
