I would like to see this larger and maybe a tad brighter but i think this is a really nice flight frame.
Sky BG has enough color change to be work for me.

This is an outstanding capture of a species rarely photographed in flight. Bird is super sharp, and we can see feather detail very well. Background blue is beautiful. Biggest issue here is composition. The wings are too
close the edge now, and I think a vertical would work better given the pose. Hopefully you have enough pixels to make the detail stand up when you do that. I hope it works, because the bird is awesome.

ps: this is q better idea. Since your processing is spot on just send me the full-sized optimized TIFF if you'd like.

Ditto all of the positives. It is easy with image like this to add and fill in canvas as needed to get the desired composition. You can post these as large as 1920 pixels wide less than 595kb, Would love to see it that size as the sharpness and detail is spectacular. Or send m the RAW file via large file sender to samandmayasgrandpa@att.net. What a pose and head angle.

Nice dorsal view here. I could see the bird more to the right in the frame.

Vulkan, Thanks for sending the two RAW files. This is the one that I wanted. I went for a more natural-looking sky rather than juicing it up a bit too much as you did. I will send you my optimized file. I converted the RAW in Capture One and did not do much in Photoshop other than cropping and adding canvas in front. With the added canvas and my 3X2 crop, the optimized TIFF represents 52% of the original. I sized it 1920 pixels wide less than 595 KB.

What is the common English name for this species? Where was it photographed?

    with love, artie

ps: is Vulcan your first name?
