Yellow warbler image from last Sunday. The branch is a little thicker than I would like. The background may be a little too bland. Audio was employed. Removed some OOF branches.

A common but fun species of warbler. BG and perch are fine by me. A bit big in the frame though IMO, and I am convinced there is more detail to be found in those yellows. Those yellows are quite bright and screaming to be tweaked - here is a simple 2-second highlights reduction that got the image in the right direction (and I do realize it is NOT ideal and has lost vibrance, but hopefully you get the gist). But using the raw file would be quite better.
Vertical comp works great here, and you got a great pose and light angle on this bird. I was fine with the OP but I have to admit I like the RP and it does bring out more detail and would be an avenue to pursue on the RAW. BG is great IMO -- this shot is all about the bird. TFS

excellent critique by Daniel, the yellow channel was clipped in the original, you can get more details starting from NEF

Lovely shot, made better by Daniel's RP. Too large in the frame for me, but that's your personal style.
Well...hopefully this is a little better. I bumped the contrast, dropped the luminance of the yellows and did some selective dodging and burning. I'll admit some of the more advanced color tweaking in Photoshop is above my pay grade and I can always fall back on being partially color blind.
Excellent view of this warbler. Yes to some more room around the bird. The pose and background are right on.
