    Default Common Yellowthroat

It was a beautiful morning yesterday. Probably my best Common Yellowthroat image. Audio was employed. Removed a little background clutter and cropped so I didn't have to remove a bunch more.

Terrific closeup, they are so small and fast and hard to get on a nice perch.
    BG is awesome.
The dark patch on the left side of frame on the tree is a bit distracting, maybe lighten a bit?

Hi Jack a beautiful subject .

Looks good from the general color and the crop , pose is very nice .

I might back off on contrast and saturation , as both are masking potential detail in my eyes .

There's no more detail in the black face mask. The image was a little over exposed to my eye so I dropped the highlights -100 in adobe raw. I didn't touch the saturation or contrast.

    Excellent close up portrait.
Good BG and the yellows are not blown.
I find the dark area of the tree at mid-frame a bit strong. I would dodge this area,

I love these littler masked warblers. The yellows are not blown, but I feel there is still some hidden details hidden in them that are calling to get teased out. Perhaps educing the highlights during raw conversion would work in this aspect. COntrast looks high from my end too, perhaps a function of the time of day the image was taken? Great view of the feet, beautiful BG, and nice details.

There wasn't any detail in the dark area of the branch to dodge, so I did some cloning instead and dropped the saturation some.

Yes Jack great capture little birds and warblers hard to get always bouncing. Love the colors in the background with the yellow makes the bird pop. Maybe fill in the black with the lichens or tone it down. TFS

What the heck, in for a penny in for a pound. No making the main branch look that good, so away with it.

Lovely little bird, I am totally convinced you could get more detail out of it by another raw conversion and some masking, there is more detail in the blacks, .......the yellows are slightly swamped.

The last one with the tree gone looks great. The detail and exposure really work for me! This bird can be tough to get cleanly, so you did really well.

Just an additional info .... for all who are interested .

This image has the AdobeRGB color profile embedded ... this might cause problems in some viewers/webbrowsers etc .
For web presentation the image needs to be exported or saved with the sRGB color profile ( Internet Standard in PS ) , otherwise there might appear other colors and tones .

    Cheers Andreas
