Golden (Orange?) Oldie

I have been enjoying the wood ducks again, and came across this one from 2009, never processed. Taken at the North Chagrin Reserve near Cleveland, which alas is not what it used to be.

D700 500mm f/4 with TC14II. 7.1. 1/2000s. ISO 610

Post: PS 2020. Cleaned up some debris in water, cropped about 20% for comp. The water color is all from the fall leaves, no augmentation in post

Randy, Woody's never get old to look at. I love the sort of hex/diamond patten and orange color in the BKG! While I'm not an expert, first glance it feels like the brightness/EXP around the eye compared with the rest of the image is quite loud. See what everyone else says.

Good observation about the eye. It is exactly as shot, but I could see toning it down a sliver.

Hi Randy ... love this one . A real explosion of colors ... you did well to get that in the shot , and squeezed it out in post . Velvia ...on natural steroids !!!
I personally would not change a thing .

Wow that is beautiful, it almost looks like sky in the top half with that different pattern.
Maybe remove one of the eye catchlights?

This one is all about the gold water and the textures within. Gorgeous!
Duck ain't bad either.
Whites a bit hot on the neck. I would also consider removing the extra catchlight.

Such a sweet fall frame! I miss the ability to capture such color here in California as we don't have traditional fall. I echo the comments re: cloning out second catchlight and toning whites down just a tad. Both easily fixed. A strong frame
regardless.
