Hi folks .... found this one in the archive from 2015 .
European Coot youngster got fed by the adult ... was fun to watch . Image taken at local town lake , sadly the location is not really longer usable due to the mass of humans lurking around at the lake . The lake is completely artificial .... on that spot was a steel factory that got shut down in the early 90īs , a Chinese company bought the factory . Teared it down , shipped it to china and rebuild the factory in china .
Local government decided to build a recreation area for the town .... took many years as the polution was quite bad due to the industrial usage over some 50 years , including that little creek that was flowing there for a long time . So the area became .... " renatured" ! During this process it was quite good to go and check for subjects to photograph .... but now the area is well developed for recreation and there are properties build around the lake , like just 20 meters of the shore line .
No longer possible to shoot in sweet light ... as the buildings are blocking the sun , due to their height . There is no shelter for a photographer to hide .... sitting there with a long glass , is raising questions from visitors and even local authorities . As some VIPīs are having their houses at the waterfront .... I got asked if I am a " Paparazzi " . Well well .......

Wonderful tender moment imaged quite well. If mom was not cropped, would be sweet perfection, but I love the close in view as well. Techs look superb, so what's new. TFS
The picture makes me happy, the story makes me sad.
Great exposure control, with unusual degree of detail in the adults bill. The chick looks like a halloween hair dressing that has gone really bad. Food item a plus, eye contact between the birds is great.
Love the chick and food item and the low POV.
I am not crazy about the way the adult is cropped but still an image that shows a wonderful interaction.
The exposure is perfect showing the blacks and the beak os adult perfectly,
