Image captured in March 2019 at Lake Morton in Lakeland, Florida. Every winter/spring these birds are at Lake Morton for a couple of months. A wonderful experience to sit on the ground, talking softly to the birds, inching forward ever so slowly gaining their trust. Comments and critique welcomed and appreciated. Thank you for viewing.

Very soft side light giving nice detail in the feathers and that amazing bill, without harsh shadows. Excellent preening pose, great eye contact.
I might give it a bit more space on the sides and below if you have it. Where to crop on the body is always interesting choice, personal taste in general.
For my information, how long does the breeding horn last for?

Hi Randy, thanks for viewing and commenting. This article says that the horn falls off after the eggs are laid. I had to look it up.
Another fine shot Joe. I have slight reservation over the water colour, maybe of course it was like that, we don't tend to get the colours you do over here, but perhaps adjust the Hue and saturation?
