    Bill:

    Nice shooting angle, prey item, ripple, really like the cloud like effect I bg.

    The feather detail on the upper back seems a bit coarse.

    Like the high key treatment here. Nice to see the prety item. Framing is right on.

    Right up my street this one Bill, lovely mood to the shot with all the whites, and a nice bit of action with the prey item.

    Thank you all for the comments. Randy, I think that coarseness is at least partially the nature of the feather structure on this species. I've looked at a lot of other LBHE images and found the same thing, which is also shared by Reddish Egrets. Of course the high ISO might not have helped.
