This is perfect. Love that gold BG with the painterly brushstrokes, the light, the perfect head turn. Also, the eyebrows are well seen.
9.8/10 for me. You would have gotten 10/10 if I could have seen the feet! I am a hard taskmaster...

Lovely shot Mike, seems like an age now since I was on't moors! Composition and colours super, I would suggest lowering luminosity in the reds, his comb shows more detail and maybe a slight Burn on the lores - again to render a little more detail - WDYT??

This fella is aware of your presence! Nice perky pose here. I love all the warm tones, and the BG is beautiful. You may opt to remove the detach bits of grasses to the left of the perch to make for a cleaner edge at the bottom, but all-in-all an appealing frame.
