Whilst we're still in lockdown here I thought I would play with low shutter speed as well as high. I got this shot shortly after sunrise whilst walking Barney.
Being honest a faster shutter speed would have been better but I don't think it is too far off.

Hey Jon, like the setting, very true to form in the mornings, this is what the Pheasants and I have been wading through. I just wondered about going lower, but I quite like the shot from slightly above. I think it might do with a slight gamma tweak to get some more darker mid tones on the subject??? Is my old eyes or screen, but does the subject need a hint of luminance or colour noise tweak, look on the back? Like the frosty dew.

Love the pose with great HA and the canvas overall. Dew/frost really adds for me. TFS

I think you're right about the shutter speed. The focal plane is right on the bird judging by the grass but the bird is pretty soft. I would probably crop to 2X3 and move the bird a little more out of the center.

We don't get frost like that in California, so this frame is pretty cool. Detail looks pretty good considering lighting and shutter conditions. Curious head angle is nice as well. I would never have the patience to play around with slow shutters like this. I'd be up at ISO 1600 and free from shake!

Dorian when you get as old as me you have plenty of time to be patient!

Well done Jon..@ 1/100 you got lucky The bird looks good here...Nice colours and detail. I'm not one to talk about colour casts, but the grasses appear to have a blue cast here.

Love that dew on the grasses. Nice pose on the thrush. The light looks like it's just about to break.
