Nice view of these three. Like the clouds in the background. Wish the adult had a better head angle.

Great interaction, and the composition looks good given the challenge of getting three subjects. Details on the bird look good, and the clouds behind are really sweet. I might try to raise
the shadows a bit just to make them less prominent. They are a but heavy as presented.

Hi Dorian, Yes I thought the same thing right after posting. Quickly, I just opened the JPG , lifted shadows slightly and added back contrast just on the birds. As far as framing, I had a zoom in my hands but this is one crowded nesting site. Had to evict two cut wood storks from this image. So, the best I could do. Thanks as always for your valued inputs. Can do much better starting from scratch but just wanted to quickly respond to your very helpful critique.

The clouds really do add a lot here! Good interaction. The main issue are those dark shadows. The repost addresses it somewhat, but I still feel they are quite dark. Have tried the "shadows" slider during raw conversion? P.S. Good call on the vertical comp.

Yes it can be addressed better in DPP and there is even some detail on the middle bird in the shadows. As I try to always do, I did create this with ETTR and pulled back on EXP till till those clouds looked great and the birds looked suitably contrasty without noticing the deep shadows. Will revisit and post again later. As always, thanks for the valued inputs. BTW, I knew about the big shadow but could not get right on the sun angle due to even more interlopers around this nest. One of the challenges of nesting pictures, but it is worth it to me for images like this.
