    Default Torn Eye 2018

Going back to 2018 files and this was when 'Torn Eye' who decided to nest in the orchard, that was fine, but when the orchard is inhabited by two adult pigs, you need to be creative, mindful and to learn to work with limitations to say the least!!!

Currently 'Torn Eye' is showing well in limited time widows, 'Scruffy' is being less visible and rather shy, but I did spot him/her behind some vegetation and the concerning health issues appear to be getting better, fingers crossed, but constantly fluffs up like a ball, which is concerning I feel.

Thanks to those who viewed or commented on the previous posting.

Old torn eye is looking good here. Really like the colors in that background. Nice pose and framing.

Hi Steve, your image provokes happiness and sadness in me. Happy that the bird appears to be doing well and sad that it suffered such an injury. I'm not a big fan of the background, it appears separation was not possible, but as I know we take what is given. Wonderful that you can follow these owls over several years. Love seeing them, thank you for sharing.

Nice look at this little guy, a species I've only seen a few times on my lone visit to Spain. Stare is really nice, and I like the look at the talons as well. The perch is a bit overpowering, but I think your
composition handles it as well as could be expected. I quite like the textured BG; it's something different but works for me. Exposure and look good.

Love the overall color palette here. The curve branch is pretty cool although I might be tempted to take a bit more off the bottom. That loose feather is great. Details are nice. Bummer about this one's eye but seems to be doing ok. TFS

Thanks folks, the BKG is dead old beech trees branches as it needed something. Not ideal perhaps, but when the 'Devil drives...' but for sure, having a more 'natural' backdrop is always desirable. Something I'm again struggle with, but we will see.

BTW Here are the pigs that were/are still frequenting the orchard, so you can understand how difficult things were with these guys snuffling around!!! They are walking bulldozers.

Hi Steve ... glad you are getting along with your friends . The feathered and the hairy ones as well .... I hope you groom a bit with the piggies . Waiting for a selfie ....

Regarding the image , well a very tough one .... just because of that BG . IMHO just too dominant . Have you thought about darkening the FG ???

Usual hight standard output ... well done !!!

    Good luck with Torn Eye

    TFS Andreas

Hi Andreas, as I said, location was tough and so I had to, for ONCE, create the backdrop, the current one is natural, but a challenge. If I can get back home in a few weeks time, then I may have a few days to work up some of 2020. My only concern is do I have a 'pair', will they mate and then at the back end of June, hopefully some full on action, but currently everything is up in the air.

I think it's time to move on with this image Andreas, more pressing files to process with this subject and the MK3 is getting pushed, especially on the 'Mirrorless' side which is scoring each day.
