good looking mallard, was it raining? although this one is much mich better than the other ones you posted the IQ still isn't great looks like too much noise reduction has been applied which has softened some of the finer details that were present in RAW capture

the composition is a bit too centered for me

Great looking mallard! I think the colors look good and I like the look-back pose.
I think it is fair to demand more for such common and accessible species like this. A lower shooting angle would have been nice.
Also not sure about the dark strips in the bottom and top of the frame, are they natural?
Agree on the noise reduction and the composition too!

Arash , Thanks for taking a look. Yes it was raining. One round of neat image noise reduction on the bird. I can't see a lot of fine detail on the monitor I'm limited to right now so I will take your word for it, I'll take another swing at this image and post again. Thanks.

Noise reduction as stated, not much applied. Light fall off around was natural, but I did helped the fall off on the bottom a bit. Too much? Not sure about the composition critique, purely subjective, but I'll give it another go .

    Thanks for your comments .

I love the large wing feather, and its colour form brown to grey to white. Yes, a lower angle would have been great, but understand that it is not always possible. One thing with NR is that it rarely needs to be applied to the subject itself, especially for web presentation and where there is lots of fine details.
