Default American Oystercatcher... A Different View

Most oystercatcher images I have seen are mostly profiles. While photographing this oystercatcher the bird turned towards me and walked out of the breaking waves. Image captured at Ft. Desoto, Pinellas County, Florida. Comments and critique welcomed and appreciated. Thank you for viewing.

I'll like the idea to shoot it in a different way. It shows well the big legs. I do think that you have been editing the shadows a bit to much. At least, it looks not as natural as I've expected to be.

Hi Joseph ... indeed a different view .
Love the low POV and the wave splash in the BG nicely separated . Lovely colors and nice overall tonal range .
Watch the slightly visible sharpening halo at the high contrast edges ...

Hi Joe, I'm wondering if a tad more below may help? Nice tonal range, well exposed. The HA isn't quite working for me, either a tad more to camera (head & bill), or head side on for me. I very much like the setting/location, especially with the waves in the BKG.

Hi Andreas, thank you for viewing and commenting. I fixed the slight halo, easy, just had to lower the sharpening a tad. I have to have good tonal range or I will hear about it. I am a DOSK.

Hi Steve, thank you for viewing and commenting. I have another from this series with a better head angle that I will post soon.

Like the low angle and that wave breaking in the background. Maybe crop a little from the top right. Nice light and detail.

    Hi Joe,

Like this walking pose a lot. Nice DOF with fine detail throughout, and breaking wave behind. Excellent low POV.

Great POV and I like that wave behind the bird.
