I thought it would be fun to start posting cheery, bright birds during these depressing times.
Wild and free. They are so hard to shoot with that long tail. This guy came down low from the top of the trees and stayed and preened for about 10 minutes. So exciting!

Nothing added or cloned. About 85% FF.
I wish I had a bit more room at the top. And now that I see this posted I would smooth out the spot where the light is shining through the foliage at the tip of tail.
Comments and critiques always learned from and appreciated with thanks,

Pose, details, colors, perch and BG all spot on, as usual. Put a smile on my face. TFS

    Gail:

Made me smile as well, which is a great thing right now! Macaw yoga.

Lovely colors, soft bg, pose, all great. I can see a 30% or so clone stamp over the spot you are talking about, but frankly it isn't objectionable as is, because of the slight mottling in the bg.

Thanks for starting my day off with a smile!

    Cheers

Yes it brightened my day up some too Gail!! I like the pose, and importantly the eye is clearly visible and sharp. The background is fine from my POV. Did you also take some at a smaller aperture?

Bright and cheery indeed. What fun it must have been to watch this guy up close. I agree with your self-critique: more room at top and spot near tail. But a fine shot to brighten the morning.

The color sure is nice. The pose is very neat. Nice of the bird to turn it's head for you. Nice background as well.

Beautiful Macaw. Love the hanging twisted pose he gave you, Gail. Wonderful rich colors and nice eye contact.

Loved this pose and the colors. My only critique would be to agree that a bit more room at the top might have balanced the overall photo a bit. My trip to Costa Rica for this opportunity was cancelled recently, so I'm envious.

Wow!! This is awesome Gail. Love the pose, colors, details and exposure. Perfect HA and that BG looks great as a backdrop to all that color. Did you guys get to shoot flight shots at the ranch? Well done
