    Default First C1P processing..

Nice to learn new tricks in lockdown, I got a 30 day Capture One trial,
Had a few crash problems but have it up and running. Ordered Arash's book.
First impression, the RAW files look outstanding on the screen!
Seems easy to use, I barely scratched the surface, just did rudimentary processing.
The WB selection was very good I thought, colors very nice.
Files are clean, I finished this in PS so I could use Topaz NR as I
don't know how to make selections yet in C1P.
I used half the NR I usually use on PS files.
This was about a 60% crop at iso2000, the TIFF is really clean, the only
noise showed up when I downsized and sharpened for web.

Lovely colors Dan. Well framed, good pose, soft light. Glad to hear of your experiences with CP1. I tinkered with it a bit, but then my 5k iMac failed, and I really didn't become comfortable with it,

To me, the bird could be sharpened a bit more.

Thanks Randy. It did crash on me, had to reload twice but it appears to working well.
I did not sharpen the RAW at all. Just my basic downsizing sharpen.
In fact, I did very little to the RAW, just set the WB and exposure.
I am doing side by side comparisons today. Fun to have both.
Free is good price in Lockdown.

much better than the ones before in terms of IQ. very little noise visible on my 4K NEC screen. It does need more sharpening, which has to be done in PS right before saving. I sent you the guide check it out

Once you study the guide you should be able to get the same results I get in just under one minute of processing

    cheers

    The BG is killer!
Good luck with the new software!
I would sharpen the face a bit more,

The grey ghost strikes again. The two toned background is nice.
