Hi folks ... a rather old file from 2012
Image taken on South Georgia Island

    Canon EOS 1D MK IV
    EF 500 IS L
    Tripod

    F 5,6 ; Iso 2000 ; 1/1600 sec

Processed with DPP 4 and PSCC 2020 ; Full frame

A bit more DOF would have been better as the nose is not sharp

Thanks for watching and commenting to my previous postings

    Cheers Andreas

He reminds me of one of our old domestic breed of pigs with his nose slightly upturned. As you mention the nose isn't quite in focus but it is still a very appealing image.

Beautiful low angle, gotta like those eyes and the flipper pointed at the chin. More DOF would have been nice but this works.

Tack-sharp where it needs to be, the rest is what it is and does not bother me. Neat to be able to count all those grains of sand!

Hi Andreas -- This is a fantastic image, awesome output from the 1D Mk 4. Nose isn't bothering but more dof would have been nice. The fine details make this life like portrait and the tight frame is right in to the face of the viewer. Would have liked a bit more space at the base. Call it nit-picking but I find that piece of snow besides its face in the bkg a bit distracting.

Overall a super fine image, TFS !

Personally as the face is almost 'in your face' I would like to have had a bit more DoF for the nose. 6400 would probably have been your ceiling on ISO. With hindsight backing off and having some more FG would not have hurt the image and perhaps also gained a bit more detail in the flipper?

Thanks so much folks for kind comments , much appreciated .

Haseeb ... i do not mind the snow blob , but could be removed .... I am only removing what is really bothering me .

Steve - agree with you about having better moved a bit backward ... sadly too late .

    Cheers Andreas

A pleasing shot that makes me study it for the detail. Almost monochrome.
