Default Northern Shoveler from the vault

I am on coronavirus lockdown and revisiting photos from 2017 photo year to keep busy.

Northern Shoveler from Orange County, California
Canon 400mm f/4 IS DO II + 1.4x III on 1D Mark IV
    1/5000 at f/5.6, ISO 640

I did add a touch on canvas at right.

    Cheers,
    Dorian

Nice photo Dorian, great wing position. Details and colors look good wonder if it had just a little more exposure might pop even more. Might be the darkness of the water more than the actual shoveler . Hope the lock down goes well.
Even here in remote Nd taking precautions and staying at home mostly. I can still get out and take pictures. TFS

    Great frame Dorian!
Slight head turn our way is great because the duck is ever so slightly past us.
Colors look great and iridescence is perfectly shown. tack sharp. Perfect exposure.
    Great wing position.
Also amazing is the fact that he has so few specular highlights on the bill.
I could see this with a bit more of a pano crop but good as is.

Awesome colours and iridescence. Excellent wing position. I too noticed the dark hue to the water. Not good or bad, just pointing it out. Keep safe and healthy!

Nice view of this drake. Love the view of that wing. Color looks great. Blue water is nice as well.

Sweet frame. Dark water BG makes him pop. Great iridescence and detail, and that slight head turn saves it.
