    Taken in the back garden, I was actually intending to photograph shield bugs but to cut a story short I also got this magnolia. I went for a fairly wide aperture to throw the background out of focus.
    This is two raw conversions layered and then the magnolia masked to throw the background into deeper shadow.

    Metering mode : Pattern
    Exposure mode : Manual exposure
    ISO : 100
    Exposure bias : -1.3 EV
    1/2500 sec , f4

    The lighting here is very effective.Nice details. Composition works well.

    Always good to be flexible and take advantage of the situation, even if it isn't what you started out to do!
