Default Nesting tussle... Wood stork too close...

    EOS R EF400 DO I 2xtc II f11 1/1300 ISO 1600

This old glass combo not the best and is more reliable when stopped down one full stop. The version II lenses with version III tc work much better together. Absolutely nothing wrong with the EOS R though. This summer 3rd gen 100-500 and 4th gen TC will be released for the RF mount. Can't wait... Not to mention new bodies with much faster processors and bird eye AF... Full frame mirrorless is coming fast and already fully here at Sony.

    ps
yes the beak tip and lower neck are OOF even at f11 with this lens combo. The AF is right on the eye/cheek.

As always, valued critiques are very welcome.

    David:

I think your self critique pretty much covers it. From a comp standpoint, a bit more of the neck perhaps, he seems a bit squished in the frame. I do like his spikey hair do!

I quite like the composition, the equipment David - I am not concerned if it's this or that - too much preoccupation with the latest this or that, I think you have a pleasing image, ok the bill tip is just slightly off but it is an interesting image and I quite enjoyed looking at it.
Sorry if I sound a bit of a ranter but who has what or when or who has the latest most expensive lens or camera or PC - not bothered, I am interested in the picture - simple!. I feel skill and being in the right place and time counts for awful lot. I look at the image then the techs, the lens focal length maybe and of course how it has been processed but that's about it.

Love the hair do. The light is nice. Great background. Detail looks quite good as well.
