Default Goose variant - ID help

This goose popped up at our local bird sanctuary a couple of weeks ago. Was hanging around with a group of normal Canada geese, but had some significant variations from the run of mill birds. Much larger white area on chest/neck area, larger stirrup of white on head, much thicker legs. A friend mentioned that his son who lives in Alaska said that this was what the Canada geese originally looked like, but I have not been able to confirm this. It was nice that he stretched out his neck to give us a good view.

    Thanks for your help.

    Cheers

Like the pose and the snow. Framing is right on. Not sure on the ID.

Very nice Randy, good techs too. Perhaps a tad more on the RHS so the shadow isn't so tight to the trim?

It does seem like a pale individual, including the legs (although hard to tell if they are simply dirty). Neat pose with that outstretched neck. Fun to spot differences between birds!
