Default Mourning Dove Surrounded By Fresh Snow

This was the world's tamest Mourning Dove (many times rather flighty over here), allowing many opportunities and fearless of approach up to MFD. A beautiful morning after a snowy night a couple of weeks back, with thick wet snow clinging to all branches. The temperature rose high and fast enough to melt it all away after an hour or so after I arrived. Another reason to get up early!

Nice wintry scene and back view.
I might take a bit off the bottom.

Super shot Dan, colours look idyllic, love the snowy background. Unfortunately these are something of a rarity in this country.now.

Hi Daniel. Very nice! Like the lookback pose, colours and overall composition. I miss seeing snow!

    Daniel:

Nice look back pose, like the slightly ruffled feathers, snow. Did you have a chance to try smaller f/stops with this cooperative subject for a bit more DOF? Works well as is, just curious.

    Cheers

The snow is great here. Like the fluffed up pose. Nice detail on those feathers.

    Thanks gang,

Randy, I did, but thought this one was best comprise from that distance (BG-wise anyhow). I did take some images from much farther out for "small in the frame" versions, and that did the trick in getting the tail fully sharp.
