    Jon:

Very nice background, attractive perch, bird at a nice angle in the frame. Well exposed, good eye contact. Very nice.

Was this taken just recently? What latitude is Wirral at?

    Cheers

All around beautiful capture, Jonathan. This is a new finch for me. Like the subtle feather color changes, and the flowering perch. Nice complimentary background.

Another nice one from your garden. Like the framing and those flowers on the perch. What a bill on that finch.

Nice one Jon, perhaps a sliver off the top? Sharpening looks spot on, did you back things off?

Geoffrey, Jon, glad you liked it, I have been messing around with my processing algorithms so the easiest way is to play in the back garden.
Steve, I reprocessed and reduced the crop so the original file is bigger, no sharpening at all on the raw file, can't remember how much but I think I did lower sharpening of the web sized image a little, it used to be 50% this one was probably 35% (I know you will cringe but I use an action and then modify the amount!).

Randy the image was taken 16 March 2020...... is this the info you require "Latitude of city of Heswall is 53.3167 and longitude of city of Heswall is -3.1."

Yes, but you do do some 'pre sharpening' within the Tiff, from memory, although you have no idea on radius or threshold I think? But if it works great, based on this it seems that way, have you printed any to get a better idea?

Personally I feel each file should be treated on it's own merits Jon and therefore 'Output sharpening' should not be a 'blanket' process as some require more or less sharpening, but the degree/amount is always subject to the original Raw file.

Very nice pose, I would sharpen the feet a bit more.
