Just a fun frame of this feisty little wren, a rare species for us up here, and a fun one for what has been a slow winter apart from some owls. Looking a lot like a Caramilk Egg packaging, at least colour-wise (Google it )

Canon 7DII + 500mm f/4 II + 1.4TC III, manual exposure, evaluative metering, 1/320s., f/5.6, ISO 1600, natural light, handheld, FF. Audio used to locate it, but then it swarmed around and perched on various spots for a bit until it retreated back.

Interesting pose on this cute little guy... I would run some NR on the left side of the perch..

    Daniel:

Great head on pose, love the upturned bill, eye contact. I know you were pushing the limits perhaps with your shutter speed, but a bit more DOF would have been nice.

I might consider a versions with the brown area on the left side of the trunk either cloned out or toned down. Lovely background.

    Cheers

Like the head on pose here. Must have been cold the bird looks pretty fluffed up. The background is great. Well now i want to try a Caramilk Egg. Never heard of one until now.

Great head-on look. They can indeed get feisty; I can just about hear him scolding you.

I think your other frame of this bird was way better but I think you know that as well. The perch is still beautiful here, sp is the colors of that background. And I like the head on pose where you can still see both eyes. I think the depth of field is to shallow as nearly none of the perch is in focus, it is also a little noisy. Other than that a fun frame of a really nice bird!

This one made me smile! Just a feel good image!
Great BG and I like who he fits perfectly into the notch of the perch.
Having the eyes perfectly symmetrical and visible is always nice.
I wish the left hand side of the perch was less prominent and OOF.
