My wife and I were walking through a swampy woods last week when a pair of Wood Ducks flew in and landed on a distant branch. They proceeded to allopreen and whisper sweet nothings, and all the while the hen was standing on one leg with her other leg extended out behind her. Unfortunately there were lots of branches and leaves between them and the boardwalk on which we were walking, so it was impossible to get closer or find a clear view through the trees. I cleaned it up as well as I could, but I'm not looking for a critique on technical merits. Still, I thought it was a fun moment worth sharing.

Wood ducks are such fun subjects, quite colorful with interesting interactions. You had soft light which shows some of the subtle colors, esp. on the female in this shot. Like the one legged stance. Lichens on the perch add interest.

Can't wait for them to be back here. Just starting to see a few at the local bird sanctuary .

    Cheers

Definitely a beautiful moment worth sharing Bill!
The poses and the perch are really great. As you yourself allready mentioned the technical side of things I won't go into that and leave it at that.
