I like the simplicity of the capture Jon.

I might just add a tad of exposure and up the Tint (+ magenta) to have a cleaner WB and subject. Using a Curve adjustment may reduce the contrast in the BKG so its less sooty, but I would always do the in LR. Cool detail and I like the body position.

Glad to see you have better weather up north, grey and dark down here.

PS think the sign off is a bit big & competing.

Nice and sharp! I think a small crop off the bottom to just below where the branch comes in would look good.

Very nice frame here. Like the pose, perch and the background. Detail looks great on this one.

    Nice one Jon!
I'm jealous of all the birds you get in your garden as I'm missing many shots of these commons species still.
This is a nice looking male on a quite interesting perch and against a great background. I think the composition works fine and the main point for improvement is probably that the light is a little harsh and a bit from the side.

The IQ and detail of this image is great.
    Nice BG, nice diagonal perch.
Light a bit bright but that is a minor nit.
Actually, I find the IQ of this image to be one of the best from your Olympus camera,
    Gail
