I captured this image at Circle B Bar Reserve in Polk County, Florida. This day a pair of Sandhill Cranes flew by, circled around and landed about five feet from me. Too close for anything other than a head and neck portrait. When I look at the image I wonder, why is the bird gray, why does it have red on the head, why is the eye orange. I don't know. Comments and critique welcomed and appreciated. Thank you for viewing.

The 2X3 vertical crop wood well with this one. Nice open beak pose.
Hi Dan, thank you for viewing and commenting. I had tried a 2x3 but it appeared tight around the bird so I then went to a 5x7, not sure if it is better. Thanks again for commenting.
