Another form the 2 passes in decent light - have to post plenty of these as owls in good light is a rarity here! Tried to take on board some of the processing critique from the last one - thanks everyone who commented. A bit of posterisation in the BG thats not there on the TIFF

light is awesome here, love the pose and the lit up underside. Wish you has used a faster shutter speed to get a sharper file. for a subject like this D500 can go up to ISO 2000 that would have given you 1/3200 sec

Lovely shot, Australian owls are strictly nocturnal so no opportunity to capture them in reasonable light.

Killer BG. Nice light and pose.
I would sharpen the eye/head a bit more.

Cheers Arash, I went with less sharpening this time due to comments on my previous thread. Here's a version with my regular sharpening. Still getting used to how far I can push the D500

Well the repost is much better in terms of sharpness. The light was nice and the background as well.

Nice shot Mike, the repost looks better to me. Lovely BG colours and nice detail on the bird. I like your crop. Never seen one of these up here for over a year now.

Quite well done. My only wish is that we the near-wing were completely raised so that we could have seen the full underwing ...
