    Default Savannah Sparrow, Ipswich Race

Walking along the sand next to the Barnegat jetty last week, I spotted two Savannah Sparrows that were much paler than the ones I usually see. I knew immediately that they were of the Ipswich persuasion, and although I have many frames of Savannah's, I don't know that I have ever photographed the Ipswich race until now. One of them posed very nicely for me.

Such an excellent view of this usually-overlooked species! This species doesn't often perch on foliage since they're mostly ground bound, so I think you did well to get him on such a clean perch. Exposure and detail are money.
Love the legs and feet as well.

Looks nice all around. Like the rock perch and the pose. The background is nice as well.

    Very pretty frame Bill.
I loft the soft, muted color palette.
Good IQ with a great clean BG and nice look at the feet!

Great to see this one out in the open. Perch and pose are very nice. Love the clear view of the feet. No nits from me, TFS

Ditto on all the positives above. A small crop from above and left would place a bit more emphasis on the lovely bird. Light, bird, and perch are superb.
