Walking along the sand next to the Barnegat jetty last week, I spotted two Savannah Sparrows that were much paler than the ones I usually see. I knew immediately that they were of the Ipswich persuasion, and although I have many frames of Savannah's, I don't know that I have ever photographed the Ipswich race until now. One of them posed very nicely for me.
Such an excellent view of this usually-overlooked species! This species doesn't often perch on foliage since they're mostly ground bound, so I think you did well to get him on such a clean perch. Exposure and detail are money.
Love the legs and feet as well.
Ditto on all the positives above. A small crop from above and left would place a bit more emphasis on the lovely bird. Light, bird, and perch are superb.
