Back on BPN after a long spell. This image was taken a couple of years ago while in FL with my shooting buddy Gail B. We are finalizing our next shoot together in about a month and we will be out on the boat with the snail kites again.
Welcome back! I have to be the first one to comment.
Great wing position and love the fanned tail.
I kind of like the little fly at the bottom of the frame.
I would reduce the overall exposure by about 1/3 of a stop- would help the bird but would also bring out the blue in the sky and the wispy clouds.
The eye looks a bit funky so I would eliminate the second catchlight and the horizontal line from the nictitating membrane.
A solid frame!
Gail
Would love to photograph this birds at some point. Love the pose and red eye pops. Clouds at some interest to the BG. I agree taking the EXP down 1/3rd or so would help. I would add a bit of NR as well -- see some noise creeping in on the breast and underwings. TFS
This is a very nice shot! Ditto the suggestions from Gail and Alex. I'd also tone down the legs as they look slightly hot. Really love that curved beak and the beautiful red eye.
A fine shot, well focused and detailed. I agree some highlights a little bright around the legs and base of the tail. Easy fox at raw stage and maybe lower the sky just a tad.
Hi Ann, welcome back. What a great flight pose, and love the overall feather detail, especially on the near wing and fanned tail. Good that the head is separated from the far wing, and you definitely nailed the sharpness on the Kite. Well captured.
What the #$%* girl!! Great to see you back in the saddle!!
What a cool opportunity you had seeing these ultra unique raptors.
Great job capturing this handsome male.
Pose, details and lighting look good and yes to adding a little darks via the left slider in levels.
Well done Ann
