    Default White Bellied Sea Eagle

Hi folks, my first post and hope it passes muster.

This was taken in Langkawi Island, Malaysia earlier in the year.

It definitely passes muster Phil! Welcome to BPN! Love the exposed talons here. Your sharpness is excellent. Wing position and eye contact could be better. The area under the near wing looks a little funny; like maybe you were trying to tame some whites. Thanks for posting, and look forward to many more of your submissions.

You have started with some amazing shot! Although if you would've get it from a better point of view (from the side) you'd have some just PERFECT photograph, still I like it very much! Welcome and congratulations!

Nice post Phil. Really nice action with the extended claws. As mentioned, it'll be nicer if you got a better angle further upfront of the bird. I am also considering going to Langkawi for some eagle photography. Heard they get real close! Any advice when is a gd time of the year to go?

Phil welcome to BPN and nice first post. Besides the other comments I might be tempted to do a slight counterclockwise rotation as the shoreline in the background seems to not be on the norizontal.

Thanks all for your comments and welcome -

Doug - The whites were a bit blown and had to do some highlight capping. This is a second year raptor and still had brownish blotches as well.

Jay - There is no season for the raptors in Langkawi and anytime is a good time! Make an effort to get the brown winged KF whilst you are there in the mangrove.

    Stephen - Horizon noted.
