    One of my favorites from a few years ago during spring in SoCal. Canon 1D II, 600 IS, 1.4x TC.

    Nice shot of a pretty bird. I would change two things, which seem opposed to one another so either the choice would have to be made or the bird would be smaller in the frame:

    1. More space on the left

    2. I'd like to see the tip of the leaf on the bottom right.

    As is this is still a very nice shot with a pleasing BG and colors on the bird. The open beak and catch light in the eye are other pluses.

    I just dont see how you could get a better shot of this species. Pure perfection.

    Very nice image here Brian. The bird is sharp and you have a very clean background. I might wish for a tad more space in front of the bird but not very much.

    Beautiful image, Brian. I like the subtle blur of the bottom jaw, reflecting motion with an otherwise sharp bird.

    Brian, superb image, indeed!
    I love the spot on sharpness, timing and exposure!
    I would only clone out that leaf of the bottom right side.

    One of my absolute favorite species, love that alarm call and the colors are fantastic.

    Anyhow, to the photo, essentially perfect.
