    Default Amethyst Sunbird - Female

We have a location out of town that we call the 'Aloe farm'. It is actually a nursery that sells Aloes and succulents. Sunbirds visit this nursery to feed off the Aloes. Here is a female Amethyst Sunbird perched on one of the aloes. This was taken early morning.

I love the BG and the perch is beautiful. Nice light too.
I would crop a bit tighter- a lot of empty space for my taste.

Wonderful capture, Stu. Love the defused light, and her pose. I agree with Gail and would crop in a bit, and keep her the same size as posted. Excellent background.

Very nice Stu...Beautiful bird and perch, fantastic colours. Lovely feather detail and I like the position of the bird on the perch. Not sure about the crop, I like the BG colours.

Composition works for me, awesome BG. Well exposed and processed, I like this as presented

Nice pose, flowers, background. I could also imagine a slightly tighter crop.

Another gem Stu, wonderful colours and I like the composition. I suspect you didn't go tighter because you wanted to illustrate the diminutive size of the bird and you also wanted to maintain IQ. I think it works well as presented.... no, very well!

Love the name. What a neat looking bird with that curved bill. The flower perch is nice. Background and light and right on.

Perch and background are outstanding, but I don't think the wide crop offers anything a tighter one doesn't; the extra space is pretty, but it doesn't add anything to the bird's story. So, I'd crop in tighter and get more detail!
I do wish for a bit more head turn for more engagement.

    Stu"

A fun bird, perch, bg. I agree with a bit of cropping if IQ allows. Because of the diagonal perch, I would at least try a vertical crop to see how you like it.

    Cheers
