Hi Dan, well timed for the take off, and you have captured an excellent take off pose. I do like the show of all the colurs, especially the green sheen on the head. Overall sharp, and the trailing droplets add interest.
Congrats on your new toy.

Always fun to take a new toy for a test drive. Great pose on this mallard. The water drops are nice. Like the blue background as well. Nice curl on those wing tips.

Congratulations on the new toy. It looks like it works. Great takeoff pose, luscious colors. Now go get those owls.

Excellent Daniel:
Agree with all the positive comments above. Light angle worked well for you, giving quite even green on the head, which is very prone to dark areas, and I was pleased to see the subtle green on the rump, which often doesn't show.
Keep practicing so your skills tuned up for May!!
Cheers
Randy

Wonderful image.
Congrats on the new toy as well.
Love the beautiful iridescence on head and wings. Love the feet, curled tail and water drops.
Sharp where it counts.
You have made this overlooked duck a real star!

Great shot Dan the colours and exposure are spot on. The only minor thing I would suggest would be to lower luminosity on the leg/foot.

Lovely detail, lovely colours, lovely pose...What's not to like.
Well done Dan, How did you find the Mk2 compared to the Mk1, especially when it comes to processing.

I find much better in every aspect, except one: I preferred the original zoom's "push-pull" believe it or not, rather than the new's traditional "twist". Processing similar to the 500 f/4 as far as sharpening and overall colour/contrast adjustments. Very happy with it.

Such a money frame! I've been dreaming of something similar for years - I love unusual frames of common birds - but I've yet to carve out the time or find the place to get anything, let along something as good as this.
The color and detail are fabulous, and the drops don't hurt either.

Perfecto Dan, congrats on the new lens! When i was shootin Canon my preference was the push/pull not the twist as you stated... This mallard is gorgeous.
