Hi Jon ... does look quite nice overall , with some shortcomings in terms of perch .... not so important IMHO .
Pose , color and detail/ sharpness looking good .

Just think the blacks are a wee bit heavy , for my taste .

Hi Jon, your vertical comp suits the pose, and you have managed a good HA too. Overall, well exposed, and good sharpness for 1/500. He's been perched there so long, the spiders have managed to spin their webs. This guy is very similar to our African Darter.
Hope you haven't been flooded out back home.

Nice pastel image quality with fine detail, Jonathan. The cobweb adds a nice touch to your image. Like the crop as well.

Nice job on this one. The perch is neat with all those ant lines. The vertical framing and pose are nice here. Image quality looks very good.

Looks like you had an absolute blast at Bharatpur, Jon! I haven't visited but it's one of my dream destinations for bird photography. Some day...

Coming to this image, you've got a nice background and a great pose on the bird with the S-shaped neck. Really nice detail on the plumage and the webs are a neat touch. I find the closest branch quite prominent and distracting though. Also, the image desperately needs more room on the top IMO. The bird's way too cramped in the frame as presented. TFS and looking forward to seeing more images from your trip

Thanks very much for your comments everyone, much appreciated. I agree the branches are less than ideal but in Keoladeo you get what you are given - no set ups here! Andreas I agree the blacks are a little dense in part and the compressed jpeg has not done them any favour. I did lift them selectively and quite considerably but the area on the left flank and around the base of the tail was in deep shade, maybe I could have done more but I did not want to create a milkiness in the dark areas. Aditya, it is tight in the frame - there were undesirable branches above and to the left.
Stu lots of floods in UK. My back garden is completely water logged, there are puddles on the lawn and the front driveway but we are fortunate here , no damage to the house or contents. My garden hide/shed has taken a battering and the roof is leaking a little. Really bad flooding in Shropshire and parts of Wales.

Nice pose and background. Sharp. I like the perch itself, but not the FG piece in lower-left corner. I too wish for more room above, but do understand there was distracting stuff there. I suppose you could extend the canvas there. Sounds like it's a wet and rainy weather mess where you are - I think I won't complain about the 40cms of snow coming our way later today.

Nice Image. More space at the top is needed.

I would add a little of vibrance as well
