I captured this at my local nature reserve just down the road from me. This Egret was perched on this log, and was infact fishing. They will stand for ages looking for any signs of fish in the water. The darker water BG is due to over hanging foliage around this dam. I decided to leave the feather. Taken early morning.

Lovely white details against the beautiful swirls of the dark water. Love the feather.

Great detail on this one. Nice to have that dark green background. Really makes the bird pop. I like the feather.

Bird looks great against the dark BG. Perch is nice and I like the feather a lot. Some of the whites on the face look just a little hot, but in general the EXP is great with great details. TFS, a very nice image.

A beautiful image, love the delicate feather detail, perfect HA, great perch and contrasting BG. The small feather is such a nice touch. TFS

Absolutely spot on Stu, the detail in the plumage is excellent, the yellow legs show great detail and I think the feather looks great too.

This looks great! What I love most is the water BG - very appealing faint streaks. Good call keeping the feather in there as well. I would only wish for 10-15% more room all around, but certainly fine as is too.
